 "Yeh Khamoshi Kahan Tak" has been written by Lieutenant-General Shahi Aziz (also known as Shahid Aziz), He is a Pakistani military author,  intelligence  writer and retired three-star ranking general officer of Pakistani Army. He was born in 1948 at Lahore in Pakistan. He joined Pakistan Army in 1969 and retired in 2005. He is also the former Chief of General Staff (CGS) of Pakistan Army. 

His book "Yeh Khamoshi Kahan Tak- Aik Sipahi ki dasatan-e-Ishq-o-Junoon" (literally How long will you remain silent? A soldier's saga of love and passion) is making him very famous. Reading from a prepared statement at the book, Aziz said he had been guilty of self-deception during his career but fear of Judgement Day had made him speak up.
